How QPP Radar Works: Compare Prop Firms Before You Buy

By · 22 October 2026 · 8 min read

Last checked: October 22, 2026 · A practical guide to using the Quant Prop Pilot comparison page

Two prop-firm challenges can advertise similar account sizes and profit targets yet behave very differently. Drawdown formulas, daily reset times, payout conditions and trading restrictions often matter more than the headline offer.

QPP Radar is designed to make the comparison step easier. Use the Quant Prop Pilot compare page to narrow your options, compare like with like, and then verify the exact programme in the firm’s current rules. It is a research aid, not a pass predictor or a payout guarantee.

1. What QPP Radar is meant to help you do

Compare programmes, not just brand names

A prop firm may offer multiple challenge types, account sizes, platforms and funded-stage rules. Comparing a firm’s name alone hides those differences. Keep the exact programme and stage in your notes; a two-step CFD evaluation is not interchangeable with a futures or instant-style product simply because the advertised account value looks similar.

Put rule fit ahead of the headline offer

A large notional account, high profit split or discount does not prove that a programme fits your strategy. Intraday traders, news traders, swing traders and futures traders face different constraints. First check that your instruments, holding period and risk habits are compatible; compare price and promotion only after that.

Treat the comparison as a decision aid

QPP Radar can help organise the research, but it cannot know every detail of your trading behaviour or guarantee that a firm is right for you. A listing or partner offer should not be read as certification, endorsement or a promise of success. The final choice remains yours after reviewing the exact terms.

2. A practical workflow for using QPP Radar

Steps 1–2: Define your style and shortlist comparable options

Before browsing, note whether you trade CFDs or futures, which instruments you need, whether you hold overnight or across weekends, how you trade around major news and your normal daily drawdown. Set a fee limit you can afford without needing to win it back immediately. Then open QPP Radar and shortlist programmes that fit those requirements. Avoid comparing unrelated product types just because the same account size is advertised.

Steps 3–4: Compare the same fields and verify the firm’s source

For each option, check the evaluation structure, fee, profit target, daily and maximum loss, drawdown method, reset timing, trading-day requirements, payout eligibility and restrictions that affect your strategy. Mark anything missing as “not verified”; do not guess. Open the firm’s current rules, FAQ and terms for the exact programme, and confirm whether the evaluation and funded stages have different conditions. If official pages conflict, ask support and save the answer.

Step 5: Check the offer after the rules fit

Once a programme passes your rule-fit test, review the relevant offer card and checkout fields. Confirm whether the code reduces the price, tracks a referral, applies only to a certain product or cannot be combined with another offer. Do not buy only to capture a promotion: a cheap challenge with incompatible rules can become expensive through repeated attempts or resets.

3. The rule checks that matter most

Drawdown: check the formula, not just the percentage

“Maximum drawdown: 6%” is incomplete without the reference and calculation method. Ask whether the floor is static or trailing, whether it uses balance or equity, whether floating P&L counts, and when the threshold updates. Check the daily loss rule and reset timezone separately. Two rules with the same percentage can behave very differently when an open trade moves into profit and then reverses.

Payouts: understand the full path to withdrawal

Look beyond the profit split. Confirm the first payout eligibility date, minimum profitable or trading days, consistency or best-day rules, payout caps, buffers and whether a withdrawal changes the account’s balance or drawdown calculation. Also distinguish when a request can be submitted from how long it may take to review and process. Treat “fast payouts” as marketing language until you have checked the actual policy.

Restrictions: make sure your edge is allowed

Check news trading, overnight and weekend holding, copy trading, expert advisors, prohibited strategies and instrument availability. Rules can differ by product and between evaluation and funded stages. If your method relies on weekend holds or trading news, a product that disallows it is a mismatch, not a second-best choice. Confirm the exact platform and market before paying.

4. How QPP partner codes and offer cards fit in

Code, referral and discount are different things

QPP partner cards use different labels because the commercial terms vary. Some codes are presented with a discount; others primarily attribute a referral. Use the field specified by the firm and only claim a saving when the offer terms say that one applies.

FTMO is a clear example: its official FAQ says its affiliate code for FTMO Futures Evaluations is separate from the Discount field and does not itself change the price. That is why the QPP card labels FTMO as “affiliate code, no discount.”

The nine partner cards have different conditions

Our Coupons page lists code QPP for nine partner firms, but the benefits are not identical:

  • E8 Markets: shown as 5% off; the card notes that promotions can change the offer.
  • FTMO: affiliate code, not a discount by itself; the card specifies FTMO Futures Evaluations.
  • Goat Funded Trader: affiliate code; the card says the firm does not publish a specific benefit and allows one promo code per purchase.
  • Orion Funded: referral code; Orion does not publish the discount amount, and its terms say discounts can’t be combined unless Orion says otherwise.
  • Blue Guardian: partner discount; the firm sets the amount.
  • FundedNext: the card says it matches the best official discount for CFD and Futures challenges; one code per order.
  • The5ers: first-order discount.
  • Top One Futures: partner discount, not valid on reset fees according to the card.
  • Trade The Pool: partner code; any discount depends on the firm’s terms.

Each card shows its own last-checked date, currently ranging from October 10 to October 22, 2026. These are snapshots, not permanent guarantees. Recheck the live card and firm checkout before relying on an offer.

Keep the affiliate relationship transparent

Quant Prop Pilot may earn a commission from eligible partner purchases. That relationship should be clear, but it should not replace the comparison itself. Code QPP is not a guarantee of a discount, a signal that a firm is best, or a prediction that you will pass. Choose based on rule fit and current terms first.

5. Three examples of using the Radar

An intraday index trader

An intraday trader might first exclude products that do not offer the required instruments, then compare target, daily loss, maximum drawdown and minimum trading days. Before paying, they should check whether floating P&L counts, when the daily limit resets and whether news trading is restricted. The aim is a rule set that leaves room for normal losing sessions, not simply the highest profit split.

A swing trader who holds overnight

Overnight and weekend rules should be near the top of a swing trader’s checklist. Confirm whether holding across market close is allowed, how gaps or swaps may affect risk, and whether evaluation and funded-stage policies differ. A discounted challenge is not good value if its holding restrictions make the strategy impossible to run as designed.

A futures trader focused on payouts

A futures trader should confirm the product is genuinely for futures, then compare drawdown, platform, data or reset costs, minimum trading days and payout criteria. CFD rules should not be assumed to apply to futures. Only after understanding the payout path should the trader review whether a partner code changes the relevant purchase price.

6. What QPP Radar can and cannot tell you

It organises research; it does not remove due diligence

A comparison page can make it easier to see which options deserve closer attention. It cannot eliminate ambiguity in a provider’s contract, anticipate every future change or replace the terms that apply at checkout. If a key rule is missing, verify it rather than assuming the most favourable interpretation.

Re-check the rules and offers before purchase

Prop-firm products and promotions change. Record the exact programme name, account size, official rules URL, code conditions and date checked. If the terms have changed between research and checkout, pause and review the new version. For unclear questions about drawdown, prohibited strategies, payout requirements or eligibility, contact the firm and keep the reply.

Finish with a decision you can explain

You should be able to explain why the programme fits your instruments and holding period, which rules are most likely to create friction, what the full fee is and what must happen before a payout can be requested. The outcome might be to choose a shortlisted option, research further or decide not to buy yet. That is better than purchasing because a promotion happens to be available.

Frequently asked questions

What is QPP Radar?

QPP Radar is Quant Prop Pilot’s prop-firm comparison tool at quantproppilot.com/firms/compare. Use it to organise research and narrow options; validate the exact terms with the provider.

Does QPP Radar tell me which firm is best?

It should be used as a comparison aid, not a universal ranking or pass prediction. The right programme depends on your instruments, trading style, risk habits, budget and the current rules.

Does code QPP always give a discount?

No. QPP partner terms vary. The E8 Markets card shows a 5% discount, while the FTMO card is labelled as an affiliate code with no discount on its own. Check each current card and the firm’s terms before payment.

Are the partner offers guaranteed to remain valid?

No. Offer details can change or apply only to certain purchases. Check the card’s last-checked date and confirm eligible products and combination rules in the firm’s checkout or official terms.

Can QPP Radar guarantee a pass or payout?

No. It cannot guarantee trading results, rule compliance or payout outcomes. Understand the rules and only risk an evaluation fee you can afford to lose.
